An observatory measure I took,
meeting your gaze with one look,
a nervous pang took center stage
as you lost the words it took to say
hello.
A simple gesture of a courting flirt,
a touch of my hand or shirt,
always by accident, with apology,
a simple motion, notably,
noticed.
Endearing your cowardice to ask,
maybe to sup, a difficult task?
so I forgot you were there,
my attention, another to spare,
won.
